'Band of Brothers' sequel, 'Masters of the Air', premieres January 26

Masters of the Air is the third instalment in the World War II drama after Band of Brothers and The Pacific. It will premiere January 26 in 4K Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos on Apple TV+. Originally planned to be an HBO production, Masters of the Air was announced as one of Apple's first originals ahead of the launch of the Apple TV+ streaming service in 2019. Apple has now confirmed that the highly anticipated limited series will debut on Apple TV+ on January 26, 2024, with two episodes followed by one new episode every Friday through March 15, 2024. Nine episodes in total.

In 4K Dolby Vision and Atmos

Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman, who also produced Band of Brothers and The Pacific, are onboard as producers. It is based on the book of the same name by Donald L. Miller. - "'Masters of the Air' is a salute to the brave men of the 8th Air Force, who, through their courage and brotherhood, helped defeat Nazi Germany in World War II," said executive producer Gary Goetzman. "Tom and Steven have always wanted to visualize cinematically what our author Don Miller has called, this 'singular event in the history of warfare.' We're thrilled that Apple TV+ has given us the opportunity to combine the efforts of so many talented people, on-screen and behind the camera, to tell this important story." All Apple TV+ series and movies are available to stream in 4K resolution with HDR10 and Dolby Vision HDR as well as Dolby Atmos audio through the Apple TV app on Apple devices and third-party devices from other manufacturers. However, note that the highest 4K bitrates from Apple TV+ are only available when using the Apple TV 4K media player. The Apple TV app on third-party devices conform to the lowest common denominator (a lower HEVC profile). The visual difference is significant. Apple TV+ released these first-look stills. The trailer will be released closer to the premiere.
