Nvidia is raising prices in Europa and Canada on November 1, 2023, making it more expensive to play your purchased PC games via cloud gaming on TVs and Nvidia Shield.
Google Stadia is gone but cloud gaming is still the hot new trend in the gaming industry, with Nvidia and Xbox taking center stage.
Cloud gaming lets you play games on devices that are not powerful enough by utilizing streaming technology – just like Netflix. This includes TVs, with the GeForce Now app being available on Android TV / Google TV including Nvidia Shield, LG webOS Smart TVs, and Samsung Tizen Smart TVs.
GeForce Now gets more expensive
GeForce Now does not offer games as part of the subscription. Instead, you rent an Nvidia-powered PC in the cloud to play your purchased games from Steam and elsewhere.
Prices will go up in Europe and Canada in November.
- "Pricing for members in Canada and Europe paying in CAD, GBP, EUR, SEK, NOK, DKK, CZK and PLN will be adjusted on Nov. 1, 2023 to account for increased operational costs in those areas. Both active and new members who sign up before Nov. 1, 2023 will be able to lock in their memberships at the current pricing for 6 months," Nvidia said in a support document.
Nvidia last raised its GeForce Now prices in 2021.
Here are the new prices as of November 1, 2023.
Priority delivers games in up to 1080p and 60fps, with a maximum of 6-hour gaming sessions. Ultimate is required for up to 4K resolution and 120fps, and up to 8-hour gaming sessions on RTX 4080 servers.
