Disney+ has today split in three in 9 countries in Europe. The streaming service gets more expensive if you want the best video and audio, or less expensive if you can accept ads.
The changes apply to Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom starting today November 1, 2023.
The existing Disney+ plan is being renamed to Disney+ Premium, and two new Disney+ Standard plans will be introduced; one with ads and one without.
Only Disney+ Premium offers 4K, HDR10, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

Higher price, lower price
Disney+ Premium is getting more expensive while Disney+ Standard with ads will make the streaming service available at the lowest price to date.
- "There will be less ads on Disney+ than on a typical commercial linear channel; a viewer can expect to see an average of about 4 minutes of ads per hour or less, though this may vary based on the title they are watching," Disney wrote in a statement to FlatpanelsHD.
- "There will be ads before and during a TV series (Pre-roll, mid-rolls), but only before a film (Pre-rolls). Our ambition is to create a premium advertising experience, both for viewers and for advertisers. We will learn along the way based on data of audience consumption, so our ad product will evolve over time, but for now this is our launch plan."
The company added that kids profiles on Disney+ will remain ad-free.

Disney+ Standard with Ads costs £4.99 / €5.99 / DKK49 / NOK59 / SEK59 / CHF7.90 monthly
Disney+ Standard costs £7.99 / €8.99 / DKK79 / NOK89 / SEK89 / CHF12.90 monthly
Disney+ Premium costs £10.99 / €11.99 / DKK109 / NOK119 / SEK119 / CHF17.90 monthly
