Philips is not breaking up with Google but it is introducing an alternative Titan OS in some of its 2024 LCD models including 'The Xtra' (PML9009) and 'The One' (PUS8909).
What is Titan OS? It is a full-fledged linux-based TV platform developed by a partner. We do not have many details to go on yet, but expect more information later this week.
- "... viewers can also enjoy the improved, faster and more intuitive experience of the new
Titan OS Smart TV platform," Philips said in its press announcement.
In addition to international apps such as Disney+, we are told that regional apps are in development and many will be available this year.
