Asus has introduced a 2-year standard warranty that covers potential burn-in on its OLED monitors. In a swift response, MSI has announced a 3-year burn-in warranty.
Update: Asus has now confirmed that its latest monitor models, including PG32UCDM, have burn-in covered for 3 years.
Monitor makers are seemingly growing more confident about LG Display's WOLED and Samsung Display's QD-OLED panels, along with their own burn-in protections.
Following Dell Alienware's lead with its 3-year burn-in warranty, both Asus and MSI are now introducing similar assurance to buyers.
2 or 3 years of burn-in warranty
Asus quietly introduced its 2-year warranty covering burn-in on its OLED monitor product pages that now read "Warranty: 2 years (including panel burn-in)", as spotted by TFTCentral.
In what appears to be a direct response, MSI has announced today that its QD-OLED monitors now come with a 3-year warranty covering burn-in.
- "In a commitment to our valued gaming community, MSI guarantees a 3-year warranty on OLED panels. Our 3-year warranty extends beyond typical coverage—it includes protection against the burn-in issue," MSI announced in a press release.
Last year, LG USA confirmed that burn-in under normal use is covered under its 2-year warranty for OLED monitors. However, LG has not explicitly commented on other regions.
