After recently adding support for 2023 TCL TVs (2024 models coming soon), Calman has rolled out a software update to support 2024 LG TVs as well as Hisense TVs in Europe.
Users with the Calman software and the right hardware can calibrate almost any display themselves, but the company's auto-calibration feature makes it easier and faster to calibrate SDR, and especially HDR.

However, for Calman auto-calibration to work, support for specific TV models must be added via software updates. This is necessary because the Calman software must establish a direct line of communication with the TV.
LG, Hisense, TCL
At an event in Warsaw, Poland, the company confirmed to FlatpanelsHD that Calman Ready support was recently added for select 2023 TCL models. Support for the 2024 TCL models will be rolled out soon via a free software update.
In a separate press release, the company further confirmed that Hisense has joined the Calman Ready program for automated calibration.
- "Portrait Displays has announced a worldwide partnership with TV manufacturer Hisense, encompassing both the North American and European markets," Portrait Displays, the company behind Calman, announced. "Calman supports an extensive range of Hisense TV models using Android TV (North America) or VIDAA OS (Europe), this support covers a majority of the 2023 and 2024 Mini-LED and OLED premium TV models."
The latest Calman update (ver. 5.15.4.3) also adds support for 2024 LG TV models built on the Alpha 5, 8, 9 and 11 processors.
Other TV brands with Calman Ready certification include Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, and Sony, though support for their latest 2024 models is still pending. The increasingly wide implementation of Calman Ready is partly made possible by the company's partnership with MediaTek, which produces the SoCs that power most TVs today.
