Bravia 9 is the company's new flagship miniLED LCD TV, while Bravia 8 is a refreshed OLED model. Sony's flagship QD-OLED TV will receive the 2024 features via a firmware update.
After an early launch in America, Sony's new TVs are now also rolling out in major European countries and other regions.
It is a smaller line-up from Sony this year, with a greater emphasis on high-end and large screen sizes under the banner "Cinema is coming home" to compete with this year's new high-end miniLED LCD and OLED models from Hisense, LG, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung and TCL.
Bravia 9, Bravia 8, Bravia 7
As reported in FlatpanelsHD's exclusive preview in April, Bravia 9 (XR90) is a major leap for Sony's LCD picture quality, now with thousands of miniLED dimming zones.
Bravia 9 also features Google TV, two HDMI 2.1 ports, Dolby Vision up to 4K 120Hz, and a Dolby Atmos speaker system. It is one of two flagship TVs from Sony in 2024.

The other flagship this year is the A95L QD-OLED, which was launched late last year. Built on the MediaTek Pentonic 1000 platform that other new models for 2024 are now getting, A95L also already featured the upgraded XR processor and will get the other 2024 features with a firmware update.
Bravia 8 (XR80) is a refreshed WOLED model and the successor to A80L. Bravia 7 is a more affordable miniLED LCD that delivers similar picture performance to last year's X95L. More details can be found in our 2024 Sony TV line-up overview.
