The promised firmware update to make the 32-inch PG32UCDM one of the first QD-OLED monitor with Dolby Vision support has been released.
The 32-inch PG32UCDM was announced last year but did not arrive.
Instead, Asus announced at CES 2024 that it would get upgraded to feature Dolby Vision HDR support and the third-generation QD-OLED panel in addition to 4K and 240Hz amongst other features.
The Dolby Vision update
The monitor is already available, but buyers have had to wait for Dolby Vision compatibility, so it is good news that the required firmware update has now become available.
Asus explains that the firmware adds three Dolby Vision modes: Dolby Vision Bright, Dolby Vision Dark and Dolby Vision Gaming.

This update includes new features and several bug fixes to improve performance and functionality.
New Features:
1. Dolby Vision:
- Dolby Vision Mode Setting: Added three modes for Dolby Vision: Dolby Vision Bright, Dolby Vision Dark, and Dolby Vision Gaming.
- HDR Format Setting: Added the ability to switch HDR formats between Dolby Vision and HDR 10.
2. Dynamic Brightness Boost: This feature increases brightness in console HDR mode, achieving similar brightness performance to HDR400 True Black mode.
Bug Fixes:
- Aura Sync: Resolved an issue where ArmouryCrate could not control AuraSync function. |
