Netflix has decided against offering its app on Apple Vision Pro, and it is now pulling the existing app from Meta Quest headsets.
According to a notification posted on Meta's website, the Netflix app will be removed from all Meta Quest headsets (Quest, Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest Pro) on July 15, 2024.
- "On July 15, 2024, the Netflix app will no longer be available on Quest. To experience Netflix on Quest, visit www.netflix.com in the Quest Browser," reads the description.
Netflix and VR
The Netflix app on Meta Quest was not actually developed by Netflix but by Facebook's John Carmack for Samsung Gear VR and Oculus, as it was called back then. It has not received updates in years and was limited to 480p resolution.

The leading streaming service has shown no interest in developing apps for any headsets. Recently, Netflix described the Apple Vision Pro as too "subscale" to justify investing resources in developing an app for the device. However, Netflix has also disabled its iPad app from running on Apple Vision Pro.
Currently, Netflix does not offer any content in 3D or other immersive formats and has not announced any plans to enter the field.
