Pictures of the new high-end soundbar, codenamed 'Lasso', have leaked. It will reportedly be the first to use new audio technology from a company Sonos acquired in 2022.
The 'Lasso', which is not the final name, will look similar to Sonos' current top-of-the-line Arc soundbar, but feature improved bass, Bluetooth support, and a physical switch to disable the built-in microphone, according to The Verge that also published photos of the new product.
- "The exterior of the Lasso soundbar bears a strong resemblance to the Arc, which Sonos introduced over four years ago. But inside, the components and speaker drivers have been completely overhauled and redesigned, and that’s expected to result in a cost upwards of $1,200. Sonos aims to ship Lasso later this year, though the timeframe could change," reports The Verge.

The upcoming soundbar will apparently be the first Sonos product to integrate technology from Mayht, an audio company from the Netherlands that Sonos acquired in 2022 for around $100 million.
Back then, CEO Patrick Spence said that Mayht had "invented a new, revolutionary approach to audio transducers", apparently utilizing neodymium magnets.
The new soundbar has also been designed to deliver Dolby Atmos spatial audio to the new Sonos Ace headphones, just like the Sonos Arc.
In late 2023, Bloomberg reported on a range of unreleased Sonos products, including the 'Lasso' and Sonos' first streaming box.
