Samsung is launching the 2024 version of The Serif in green or white, which will be available alongside the existing blue edition.
The Serif was first launched in 2015 as a different take on the TV, inspired by the serif font.
It has since been upgraded a few times – most recently in 2022 with a matte display – and is now part of Samsung's lineup of "lifestyle" TVs alongside The Frame, The Sero and The Terrace.
These are all basic LCD TVs featuring 4K resolution but lacking advanced zone dimming. They have proven popular with a group of consumers primarily due to their aesthetics.
Not like The Frame
Samsung said that the Serif TV can be placed free-standing on the bundled floor stand, on a shelf, or directly on the floor. It is designed to be visually appealing from the back as well, according to the company. The back made from plastic.
When not in use, it can display artful backgrounds, although it does not have the same picture frame function as Samsung's most successful 'lifestyle' TV, The Frame, which competitors are now trying to replicate.

White, blue or green
Like all other Samsung TVs, there is access to streaming apps via Tizen, but Samsung has still not committed to providing Tizen OS upgrades after the sale. There is also built-in Apple AirPlay 2 as well as HDMI 2.1 gaming features such as 4K120, VRR and ALLM.
The 2024 version of the Serif TV (LS01D) is now available in 'Ivy Green' or 'Cloud White' in Europe in 43, 50 and 55 inches, starting at €1350 / £1200, alongside the existing 2022 version in 'Cotton Blue'.
In North America, the 2024 Serif TV in white is starting at $1000 in 43 inches.
