Bang & Olufsen and TCL Electronics have signed an agreement to implement B&O audio technology into TCL TVs. The first result of the collaboration is TCL's answer to Samsung's The Frame.
The licensing agreement between Denmark's Bang & Olufsen and China's TCL spans 6 years, starting July 2024. It will bring 'Audio by Bang & Olufsen' to TCL's high-end TVs worldwide, the companies announced.
- "This is a partnership with great global potential for both brands. We'll collaborate to bring premium sound experiences to TCL's customers and enhance the overall product experience," said Kristian Teär, CEO of Bang & Olufsen. "At the same time, this is further proof of our commitment to expanding our licensing partnerships business in line with our strategy and as stated in our medium-term financial ambitions."
TCL has previously partnered with Onkyo for TV audio.
B&O sound in TCL Nxtframe
The first result of the collaboration will be TCL's Nxtframe TV (A300), which has just been unveiled in China. It is TCL's answer to Samsung's popular The Frame, which can show artwork when not in use as a conventional TV screen.
FlatpanelsHD has learned that TCL will introduce the new TV for Europe at the IFA show in Berlin in early September.

The TV will have a soundbar and subwoofer co-engineered by Bang & Olufsen. This includes tuning and sound design.
- "We are excited to announce the A300 Pro Nxtframe TV. We want to continue to elevate the customer experience, and partnering with the globally recognized audio-experts from Bang & Olufsen will bring incredible sound to our TCL audio-visual portfolio," said Zhang Shaoyong, CEO of TCL Electronics.
Featuring BeoSonic
Another component of the collaboration is BeoSonic, which is a on-screen user interface from Bang & Olufsen that will allow the user to tune and personalize the sound.
- "In addition to Bang & Olufsen's world-renowned audio tuning and sound design, the new product will also feature BeoSonic. BeoSonic is Bang & Olufsen's proprietary digital interface, which allows customers to seamlessly customize and refine their sound experience," explained Bang & Olufsen.
