The blockbuster hit Inside Out 2 is now available for purchase in the US, Europe, and other regions to experience it as Pixar intended. FlatpanelsHD has compared prices and AV formats.
After a few misfires, Pixar is back in the spotlight with Inside Out 2, once again exploring the emotions inside Riley’s head, now that she has grown a bit older.
The movie has grossed $1.6 billion in cinemas worldwide, making it the highest-grossing movie of the year, the highest-grossing animated movie ever, and the tenth highest-grossing movie of all time, surpassing The Avengers and Top Gun: Maverick.
Experience the film as Pixar intended
Disney-owned Pixar is encouraging cinemas to embrace the HDR standard, but so far, only a few have. As a result, Inside Out 2 could only be experienced as Pixar intended in around 100 cinemas worldwide.
Now, with the home release, viewers can finally enjoy Inside Out 2 as Pixar intended. It is available starting today through VOD storefronts such as Apple TV and FandangoNow in up to 4K Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos sound. Unlike most earlier animated titles, Inside Out 2 appears to have been rendered in true 4K.
The home release comes 67 days after the US theatrical premiere, a relatively long holdback period for Disney.

Where to buy or rent
Inside Out 2 is available for purchase and rental in the US, but only for purchase right now in most other regions. The original soundtrack is in Dolby Atmos, and the movie is presented in 4K Dolby Vision.
The UHD Blu-ray – in HDR10 – will not be released until September 10 in the US, with later releases in Europe and other regions. Disney has not yet announced a release date for Disney+.
