David Fincher's Fight Club will be rereleased in 4K HDR next year, both at home and in select theaters, to mark its 25th anniversary.
Fight Club was released theatrically on October 15, 1999, and was initially considered a box office flop, managing to bring in only $101 million in theaters.
The film later became a cult hit at home and is now regarded as one of the best movies ever (ranked in top-13), according to IMDb. It stars Brad Pitt, Edward Norton and Helena Bonham Carter, and is based on the novel by Chuck Palahniuk.
4K remaster confirmed
New Regency and 20th Century Studios confirmed the 4K remaster this week. The remaster will be supervised by director David Fincher.
Next year's release will include an art book, new interviews, rare behind-the-scenes content and updated visuals, which more or less confirms that a UHD Blu-ray release is planned. We also expect it to debut in 4K HDR on VOD streaming services such as Apple TV and Fandango, possibly even on Disney+ later.
In addition, Fight Club will get a limited theatrical rerelease, currently confirmed for the US.
No further details were provided and there is no firm release date other than 2025.
Another David Fincher classic, Seven, is also set to be rereleased in 4K, as confirmed by the director in mid-2023. The latest update is that it has been delayed until 2025.
