There is more good news for fans of David Fincher's modern classics: Sony Pictures has confirmed a 4K release of Panic Room for February 2025.
David Fincher has directed some of the greatest psychological thrillers, and 2025 is shaping up to be a big year for his fans.
Following the recent 4K release of Zodiac, Fight Club and Seven are expected to arrive next year. Now, Panic Room joins the line-up as it has confirmed for release on UHD Blu-ray next year.
Never released on Blu-ray
We think it is fair to say that Panic Room has been eagerly awaited as it never saw an English Blu-ray release, leaving collectors with only DVD versions.
The UHD Blu-ray will be a steelbook edition with Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio, sourced from a rescanned 4K master supervised by Fincher. The set includes various special features detailed below.
The 4K disc contains only the film for higher bitrate, though it is unclear if it is a 66GB or 100GB disc. The extra Blu-ray disc includes the film and extras.
The release date for the 4K version on digital storefronts such as Apple TV and Vudu has not yet been announced.
The steelbook will be available in the US starting February 18, 2025. We are chasing details on the international release.
