LG is adding three new WOLED monitors to its line-up: the 45-inch 45GX950A and 45GX990A (bendable) with 5K2K resolution in 21:9, and the 39-inch 39XG90SA with built-in webOS.

Starting with 45GX950A, it features, for the first time, 5120x2160 resolution, which offers over four times more pixels than Full HD, said LG. It is an upgrade from the previous-generation 1440p 21:9 WOLED panel.

At 5K2K, it delivers 125 PPI (pixels per inch) and an RGWB subpixel layout. It supports 165Hz and with Dual Mode support it can also achieve 330Hz at half resolution. It features both HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1 as well as USB-C with 90W power delivery. Unlike LCD monitors, it supports HDR. The panel is curved (800R). It will compete with the largest QD-OLED monitors such as Samsung's 49-inch model. A key difference is that LG's version has a 21:9 aspect ratio, while Samsung's offers an even wider 32:9 ratio.

A bendable version

In addition, LG is planning to launch a bendable version of the 45-inch 5K2K monitor. It will be known as the 45GX990A. - "The LG UltraGear OLED Bendable Gaming Monitor (model 45GX990A) is the world’s first 5K2K-resolution bendable OLED display. The 45-inch monitor can smoothly transition from completely flat to a 900R curvature within seconds, offering users incredible flexibility and more control over their gaming experience," said LG.

Like 45GX950A, 45GX990A will feature the Dual Mode which LG explained has been expanded in 2025 to also allow the user to easily switch between resolution and refresh rate presets, and customize the aspect ratio and picture size. LG refers to the two new 45-inch monitors as the GX9 series.

Another new WOLED monitor is the 39-inch curved 39GX90SA, which LG calls a 'Smart Monitor' due to the inclusion of the webOS platform with access to streaming and cloud gaming apps. While not yet marketed as an office monitor, it is positioned as an all-in-one "home entertainment hub" with 3440x1440 resolution, HDR support and a 21:9 aspect ratio. It features a 240Hz refresh rate, VRR (FreeSync, G-Sync), and offers HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4 and USB-C Type-C ports. The monitors will be available in 2025.
