Apple TV+ will be free this weekend to check out shows such as Silo, Severance, Ted Lasso and Slow Horses.
Apple has announced that its streaming service, Apple TV+, will be available free of charge from January 3 to January 5 worldwide on all compatible devices, including Google TVs and Smart TVs. However, an Apple ID is required to access the content.
- "Apple TV+ is ringing in the New Year by offering an all-access pass to customers all around the world. Enjoy Apple TV+ for free the first weekend of 2025 (January 3 through January 5), Apple TV+ will be free on any device where Apple TV+ is available. All you need is an Apple ID to see what all the buzz is about," the company stated.
Although the free access lasts only a weekend, you should be able to get a taste of Apple's approach to streaming, which emphasizes quality over quantity. Apple TV+ has a smaller catalog than services such as Netflix but is recognized for its high production standards and well-received shows, along with a limited selection of movies.
All titles are available in 4K Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. However, only with the Apple TV 4K box do you get Apple's higher-bitrate 4K streams.
