Up from 1440p last year, the 2025 QD-OLED monitors will now offer 4K resolution at 27 inches, with Asus and MSI both announcing such monitors today featuring DisplayPort 2.1.
Updated: Dell Alienware has now also announced a 27-inch 4K 240Hz QD-OLED monitor, AW2725Q. It features HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4, so no DisplayPort 2.1. It will be available in USA in March for 900 dollars.
Update: Gigabyte has also announced a 27-inch 4K 240Hz QD-OLED monitor, the MO27U2.
Asus' model is named PG27UCDM, while MSI's is called 272URX.
Both monitors are built on Samsung Display's new flat 27-inch 4K QD-OLED panel with a 240Hz refresh rate. This panel can also be found in Samsung's 2025 Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF), as announced earlier today.
4th generation QD-OLED panel
The monitors feature Samsung's 4th-generation QD-OLED panel, described by Asus as delivering "delivers sharper imagery and crystal-clear text, a longer lifespan over previous-gen OLEDs".
MSI highlighted the panel's 5-layer tandem OLED design, which improves luminance efficiency by 30%. Both companies confirmed that the monitors deliver a peak brightness of 1000 nits. Additionally, Asus' version supports Dolby Vision alongside HDR10.

DisplayPort 2.1 with 80Gbps
The Asus PG27UCDM and MSI 272URX come equipped with DisplayPort 2.1, offering 80Gbps bandwidth. This enables upcoming graphics cards to drive 4K 240Hz without signal compression (DSC), which can cause blackouts between apps or games.
Both monitors also feature HDMI 2.1, supporting 4K 240Hz with DSC.
Detailed specifications and features are outlined below. Pricing and release dates are yet to be confirmed. FlatpanelsHD will take a closer look during CES in Las Vegas next week.
