It seems that Apple has finally struck a deal to integrate Netflix into the Apple TV app, with Netflix content now appearing in Continue Watching, Search, and the Watchlist.
Update: Netflix says that the Apple TV app integration was inadvertently rolled out and is now being rolled back. How is that possible when the feature worked as intended and users received official communication about it? No reason was provided.
Major streaming services like Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and Max are already integrated in the Apple TV app, allowing users to find all their content in a unified interface.
Netflix, however, has long been a holdout, insisting that users could only browse its content library through the official Netflix app. Netflix’s resistance to participating in aggregation apps has not been exclusive to Apple TV, as the company has also significantly limited integration with Google TV.
Netflix in the Apple TV app
Today, FlatpanelsHD received a prompt on Apple TV 4K to integrate Netflix into the Apple TV app, as shown at the bottom. After accepting, Netflix content appeared in the Continue Watching queue and Watchlist within the Apple TV app, as seen below.

It appears to work with Netflix Originals, such as Stranger Things and Squid Game, but not with licensed content. When you click 'Play,' the content will launch in the Netflix app. This requires the Apple TV box with tvOS. It does not work with the Apple TV app for third party devices, i.e. Smart TVs.
Currently, Netflix integration works only with our US Apple ID. We were not offered the option when using our EU Apple ID (Denmark). All photos in this article were taking while using Netflix on FlatpanelsHD's Apple TV 4K.
No official announcement has been made by either company but we are chasing more details.
