Sony's 2025 QD-OLED and miniLED LCD TVs – Bravia 8 II and Bravia 5 – will launch at lower prices than their predecessors.
Update: Sony has now also confirmed US pricing and the Bravia 8 II is more expensive than A95L in the US, perhaps as a result of tariffs. See the updated table at the bottom.
Yesterday, Sony unveiled its 2025 TV lineup. FlatpanelsHD has already seen the new TVs in action and you can read our first impressions in the linked article.
Bravia 8 II succeeds the A95L as Sony's QD-OLED TV, while Bravia 5 is a range of miniLED LCD TVs replacing the X90L.
Sony's launch pricing
In addition to the specifications, we now have pricing details for Europe (Germany) and the UK.
Sony's Bravia 8 II starts at €2,600 and £2,500, lower than A95L's launch prices of €3,300 and £3,000 in 2023. Bravia 8 II features Sony’s latest-generation QD-OLED panel with higher brightness. The 77-inch A95L will carry over into 2025.
The 98-inch Bravia 5 will also see a significant price drop in Europe compared to the launch price of the 98-inch X90L in 2023, despite the upgrade to miniLED. It will compete with large-screen TVs from brands like Hisense, TCL and Samsung.
Sony has yet to announce US pricing, but based on the trends in Europe and the UK, similar price reductions are expected. See the table below for details.
