JBL is launching five new soundbars, with the flagship claimed to deliver a total of 2470W of power output. Two of the soundbars feature up-firing units for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
The five new soundbars are the Bar 1300MK2, Bar 1000MK2, Bar 800MK2, Bar 500MK2 and Bar 300MK2.
In other words, Samsung-owned JBL will continue to build on a formula that has worked well for them in the past. The five MK2 models are upgrades of JBL's existing soundbars.
What's new in MK2
With the launch, JBL is boosting the power of the Bar 1300MK2 and Bar 1000MK2, giving them more punch for movie nights. These two soundbars also feature upward-firing units for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
Included are rear speakers that are detachable, meaning they can be attached to the soundbar to charge when not in use. For movie nights, they can be set up separately. They can also be used as Bluetooth speakers for music or in night mode, where audio is output only from the rear speakers – not the soundbar – because they are closer to the listening position.
An upgraded version of the MultiBeam technology is designed to widen the sound space in the living room, while PureVoice 2.0 enhances dialogue so it is easier to hear what people on-screen are saying.
