More games add HDR10+ support

04 Sep 2025 | Rasmus Larsen |

Alongside updates to F1 25 and Cyberpunk 2077, Borderlands 4 and Hell is Us have been confirmed for HDR10+, which is gaining momentum.

Dolby Vision remains more widely supported, and Dolby Vision 2 will soon bring new gaming optimizations, but HDR10+ is steadily expanding its footprint.

Now backed by Amazon, Apple, Disney+, Netflix, Samsung and other major players, the HDR10+ Alliance will use IFA 2025 in Berlin to also highlight its latest progress in gaming.

New and upcoming HDR10+ titles

The first games to support HDR10+ were The First Descendant, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, later joined by Red Dead Redemption 2, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. In July 2025, Cyberpunk 2077 was updated to version 2.3, adding HDR10+ Gaming support on Intel GPUs. HDR10+ Gaming is the dedicated gaming extension of the HDR10+ format, optimized for higher frame rates, VRR, lower latency and automatic calibration. - "HDR10+ Gaming delivers real benefits for both players and developers," said Bill Mandel, co-manager of HDR10+ Technologies. "For players, it optimizes visuals automatically, removing the need for complicated setup. For developers, it guarantees the most accurate HDR output, ensuring players experience the game as intended. The result is plug-and-play HDR with precise contrast, brightness, and color rendering across all supported devices." EA Sports' F1 25 has also been updated to add HDR10+ Gaming support on Nvidia GPUs. The next two confirmed PC titles with HDR10+ Gaming are Hell is Us from Nacon and Rogue Factor, and Borderlands 4 from 2K and Gearbox Software.

HDR10+ momentum

The alliance said HDR10+ is now supported in over 13,000 models across TVs, monitors, media players and more, with more than 160 adopter companies onboard. PlayStation and Xbox do not currently support HDR10+. Support for HDR10+ Gaming was added to Unreal Engine (5.2.1 or later) in October 2023. TV makers such as Hisense, Panasonic, Philips, TCL and Samsung support HDR10+. LG and Sony have opted not to back the format, focusing instead on base HDR10 and Dolby Vision.
