You can soon warm up for the theatrical release of Tron: Ares by enjoying the first two films in Disney's newly restored 4K Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos quality.
Originally released in 1982, the original Tron has been digitally scanned and restored to "correct dirt, warping, and other imperfections to ensure pristine image quality", according to Disney, under the supervision of director Steven Lisberger.
Tron: Legacy has been remastered in HDR from the digital source under the supervision of director Joseph Kosinski.
Dolby Vision and Atmos
Both movies will be released on UHD Blu-ray starting September 16 as SteelBooks in the US. They are each pressed on 66GB discs.
Tron and Tron: Legacy can be pre-ordered in the US here and here.

In addition, they will be released digitally on platforms such as Apple TV and Fandango at Home (Vudu).
- "The two releases showcase breathtaking Dolby Vision picture quality and pulse-pounding Dolby Atmos audio for the ultimate home-viewing experience," said Disney.
Ahead of Tron: Ares
In case you have not heard, a third movie, Tron: Ares, will premiere in theaters starting October 10, making it trilogy.
Tron: Ares will later be released in 4K Dolby Vision and Atmos on home entertainment formats, although no date has yet been confirmed.
