Hisense to bring RGB LED tech to affordable 55-100" TVs in 2026

05 Sep 2025 | Rasmus Larsen |

We will not have to wait long for the new RGB LED backlighting technology to appear in smaller, more affordable LCD TVs, confirms Hisense.
Update: Product Manager at Hisense, Pierre Izydorczyk, has contacted FlatpanelsHD to say that the prices and sizes of the mentioned TV are not correct as published by AVCesar and Les Numeriques. The rest of the information remains valid.
Last month, Hisense and Samsung launched the world's first LCD TVs with RGB LED backlights, featuring an improved color gamut, zone dimming control and energy efficiency. However, at 115 and 116 inches and priced around $30,000, these TVs are not aimed at the average consumer. Hisense also introduced a 100-inch version, but with a $20,000 price tag, it remains out of reach for most buyers, too.

More affordable models in 2026

At IFA 2025 in Berlin, Hisense France has confirmed to both Les Numeriques and AVCesar that the 2026 successor to the U9 range, expected to launch in Q2 2026, will include RGB LED in 55 to 100 inches –or RGB miniLED TriChroma as Hisense calls it. These 2026 models are expected to be very reasonably priced:
  • 55" – €1499
  • 65" – €1799
  • 75" – €2499
  • 85" – €2999
  • 100" – €4999
They will reportedly be powered by Hisense's HiView AI Engine X, support up to 165Hz, and have new anti-reflection coating. We will have to wait for more details at CES 2026 in January. This is great news for consumers, as it will intensify competition in the high-end TV market. A couple of weeks ago, industry sources began talking about RGB LED from Sony in 65 to 115 inch LCD TVs in 2026. Also read: First look: Sony unveils stunning next-gen RGB LED technology

Support for Dolby Vision 2?

The first TV to support Dolby Vision 2 will be the aforementioned 116-inch Hisense 116UXQ, powered by the MediaTek Pentonic 800 chip, which is the first chip to support Dolby Vision 2. It sounds like the 2026 Hisense model will also support Dolby Vision 2, which is unsurprising given Hisense is a launch partner. Like the 116UXQ, these models are powered by the Pentonic 800 chip. We are seeking answers. - Source: Les Numeriques, AVCesar
