After two months, Disney+ has finally rolled out a fix for the 4K HDR issues affecting the match frame rate and match dynamic range features on Apple TV 4K.
Update: The issues have also been revolved on Samsung Smart TVs, meaning that Disney+ is once again streaming in 4K HDR10. You simply need to update the Disney+ app.
FlatpanelsHD recently put a spotlight on the widespread streaming issues that have plagued Disney+ app on Apple TV, Nvidia Shield, Samsung Smart TVs and other platforms for months.
The issues have mainly affected 4K HDR playback and seem to be tied to Disney's work on adding HDR10+ support – a launch that appears imminent.
Fixed on Apple TV 4K
With app version 4.11.0, Disney+ has finally provided a full fix on Apple TV 4K, meaning that both frame rate and dynamic range matching now work as intended, restoring accurate playback of 4K, HDR10 and Dolby Vision.

FlatpanelsHD has verified that 24Hz 4K DV works, as seen here with Thunderbolts
To verify it, we set our Apple TV 4K to 4K 50Hz SDR output and started playing content in various formats on Disney+. The app switched correctly to 24.000Hz and 4K Dolby Vision with Thunderbolts, to 23.976Hz SDR with Only Murders in the Building, 23.976Hz 4K HDR10 with X-Men, and 25.00Hz 4K Dolby Vision with Doctor Who.
In other words, all the issues that have plagued Disney+ have been fixed in the company's tvOS app, regardless of whether you run tvOS 18 or tvOS 26. Disney+ no longer messes up matching functionality after exiting and returning to the app either.
