You can now pair your Sony DualSense controller with PS5, PS5 Pro, Apple TV and Google TV all at once, and switch between devices easily.
This feature was added with the latest system software, now available for PS5 and PS5 Pro. The system update also updates your controller firmware.
After updating to PS5 system software version 25.06-12.00.00.43, your DualSense can remember pairings with up to four devices, including TVs, media players, PCs, tablets, phones and more. Previously, pairing a new device to DualSense would remove the old one.
How it works
The one-time setup is simple, so you can get started right away.
After updating, follow these steps:
- Ensure your DualSense controller is off (hold the PS button for 8 seconds).
- Press and hold the PS button and an action button (triangle, circle, cross, square) for more than 5 seconds. The light bar will start flashing slowly – keep holding until it flashes rapidly.
- On your device, go to Bluetooth settings and select DualSense. It should now connect. The action button you held determines the device slot it occupies, for example, the square button.
Now, try to turn off your DualSense, then hold the PS button and the corresponding action button for 4 seconds. The controller will connect to that device.
To switch back to your PS5 console, hold the PS button and the triangle button for 4 seconds. It works whether the controller is on or off.
Repeat the process for up to 4 devices.
This functionality is especially useful in households with multiple devices, including Smart TVs, Apple TVs and Google TVs that support local or cloud gaming. It mirrors a feature of Microsoft's Xbox controller, though that is limited to pairing 2 devices at once.

New Power Saver option
The system update also introduces a new Power Saver option, which sounds like something that could be especially useful in a potential PlayStation hybrid console competing with the Nintendo Switch.
- "Users can enable the Power Saver option via Settings > System > Power Saving > Use Power Saver. Future updates for games such as Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Demon’s Souls, and Ghost of Yōtei will include support for the Power Saver option, with more titles to follow," said Shuzo Kikuchi, VP of Product Management, Sony Interactive Entertainment.
When enabled, supported PS5 games will scale back performance to reduce power consumption. VR mode is unavailable while Power Saver is active.
