About five years after launch, the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles are seeing another price increase, this time in the US.
This console generation is the first where prices have consistently risen, rather than declined as was typical in previous console generations.
Despite the 5-year-old hardware, Microsoft is raising the prices of the Xbox Series X and Series S once again, following a recent increase in May 2025.
- "We understand that these changes are challenging, and they were made with careful consideration. Looking ahead, we continue to focus on offering more ways to play more games across any screen and providing value for Xbox players," Microsoft said in a statement.
New pricing
The new US pricing as of October 3, 2025, is:
- Xbox Series S (500GB) – $400
- Xbox Series S (1TB) – $450
- Xbox Series X Digital (1TB) – $600
- Xbox Series X (1TB) – $650
- Xbox Series X (2TB) – $800
The Xbox Series X originally launched in November 2020 at $500. Its price rose to $600 in May 2025 and now stands at $650.
