Philips and Roku have teamed up to bring Philips' signature Ambilight mood lighting system to the US.
The Philips PUL7875 ranges spans 43 to 75 inches with 4K resolution. They all come with the Roku OS built-in.
These first models target the affordable mid-range segment, featuring direct LED backlight and LCD panels. Roku OS provides access to all major streaming services including Disney+, HBO Max and Netflix. Apple AirPlay 2 is also built-in
Ambilight arrives in the US
The headline feature is that Philips Ambilight is now available in the US for the first time. Ambilight has been very popular among European Philips TV buyers for over two decades.
Ambilight uses LEDs on the back of the TV to extend on-screen colors onto the wall behind, creating a more immersive viewing experience. It works with movies, series, games, music and other content. While not explicitly mentioned for the US models, in Europe Ambilight can also be set to a static warm white mode for bias lighting.

While add-on solutions exist, Ambilight remains the only fully integrated system in TVs. It also significantly more feature-rich, as highlighted in FlatpanelsHD's Philips OLED810 review.
Additionally, Ambilight has been integrated with Roku's Backdrops gallery, allowing the lighting system to function even when the TV is not in use.
Philips PUL7875 is now available online and in-store at Sam's Club.
