Disney+ introduces redesigned TV interface

03 Oct 2025 | Rasmus Larsen |

The redesigned Disney+ app will launch first on TV devices, with mobile devices to follow. It features a new navigation bar with a 'For You' tab and Hulu integration.

Disney+ is introducing a top navigation bar, making 'For You' the default homepage for personalized recommendations. Separate tabs for Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN let subscribers explore each catalog individually.

- "With this change, and in preparation for a fully integrated unified app experience next year, users will begin to see further integrations of Hulu across the Disney+ app as part of an ongoing and iterative slate of product updates on the homepage and beyond. This includes a series of design and navigation enhancements rolling out over the coming weeks and months — offering a more dynamic and intuitive experience," announced Disney.

The company also confirmed that Hulu will replace Star worldwide as its international general entertainment brand starting October 8.

More dynamic, visual

Disney+ said the new interface will feature autoplaying video in the homepage carousel, part of its plan to make the app more dynamic and visual. See the examples below. - "To ensure users are watching in their own profile, we’ll make Profiles more prominent across the UI. From here, users will find titles personally recommended for them based on their unique viewing habits," the company explained.

New iOS app coming later

Disney+ will roll out the redesign first on TV devices such as Apple TV, Fire TV, Google TV, Roku and Smart TVs. This will happen gradually in the coming weeks. The updated mobile app will come later, starting with iOS. - "Widgets are launching on iOS, which will add another front door to take users directly into our programming with one click. And in the year ahead, we're looking forward to introducing mobile-first and mobile-exclusive experiences that will expand our reach and engage with new audiences." Additional updates will follow in the coming months, the company added. The changes follow Disney's recent price hike, which started in the US, and is now rolling out to international markets too, including Europe.
