Outside the US in markets such as Europe and Australia, Hulu has this week replaced the Star content hub on Disney+. Fresh content will be added later this month.
Hulu will serve as Disney's global brand for general entertainment – everything that does not fall under Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars or National Geographic banners.
- "The power and value of the Hulu brand will reach worldwide audiences beginning October 8, when it becomes the global General Entertainment brand on Disney+, replacing Star in international markets," announced Disney.
If you open the Disney+ app now in Europe, Australia or other international markets, you should already see the Hulu content hub.

More content coming soon
In the US, Disney is also working to fully merge Hulu with the Disney+ app. Hulu was originally launched as a joint streaming service between NBCUniversal, Fox and Disney. Disney recently acquired all remaining shares in Hulu, giving it full control.
Internationally, Hulu is slightly different. International viewers already had access to some Hulu Originals in the old Star content hub, but more content will be added soon.
This month, Hulu titles such as The Baloonist, The Empty Man, The Lost Station Girls, Fate, Oklahoma City Bombing: One Day in America, Murdaugh: Death in the Family and To Cook a Bear will be added.
- "Disney+ has a number of exciting new titles coming soon, including To Cook a Bear, All’s Fair, The Kardashians S7, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives S3, A Thousand Blows S2 – all of which will become part of the Hulu category on the service," Disney told FlatpanelsHD (translated).
The launch comes shortly after Disney+ announced price increases in the US and across many European countries. Disney+ is also rolling out a redesigned TV user interface, starting in the US. The new interface is not yet available in Europe, Disney informs FlatpanelsHD, but the company has teased several new features for later this year.
