In addition to reintroducing 77 inches to its flagship Z95B, Panasonic is expanding its line-up with the more affordable 77-inch Z8BA OLED TV.
Panasonic has long been hesitant about large OLED TVs, but that appears to be changing as production costs drop and consumer demand rises.
The 77Z8BA will launch initially in the US for $2500, which is considerably less than the 77-inch Z95B flagship, which debuted at $4700.
With 'Master OLED Pro' panel
While the 77Z8BA does not use the RGB Tandem OLED panel found in the flagship Z95B, it still features a brighter 'Master OLED Pro' panel, previously promoted by Panasonic as reaching up to 1000 nits peak brightness.
It also offers 4K 144Hz, the HCX Pro AI Processor MK II, Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Atmos, Technics-tuned speakers, the MediaTek Pentonic 700 chip, Calman Ready certification, ATSC 3.0 tuners, Apple AirPlay 2 and Home integration, and two HDMI 2.1 ports with VRR for gaming.
Panasonic 77Z8BA
Built on Amazon’s Fire TV platform, 77Z8BA provides access to popular streaming apps including Prime Video, Apple TV, Disney+ and Netflix. It includes a far-field microphone for Alexa+, Fire TV’s Ambient Experience and Panasonic’s MyApp button on the remote.
The 77Z8BA will be available in the US from October 27, with broader availability expected in mid-November.
