Apple has released tvOS 26.1, making official the rebrand of its streaming service Apple TV+ with a new visual and sonic logo.
According to Apple, tvOS 26.1 fixes various minor bugs from tvOS 26, which was a major software update with a Liquid Glass redesign and new features such as AirPlay speaker pairing and karaoke.
At the same time, tvOS 26.1 introduces the rebranded Apple TV+ streaming service, which was recently announced. The plus is gone, meaning the company's streaming service is now simply called Apple TV.
New visual and sonic logo
Apple TV's new visual logo appears on the homescreen of tvOS after you update to tvOS 26.1. It is also visible in iOS 26.1 and the other software releases.
When you start playing any series or movie produced by Apple, you will also encounter the new sonic logo; the signature sound accompanying the logo before a movie starts, similar to what other film and TV studios use.

Three versions
The melody was created by musician Finneas – Billie Eilish's brother – who calls it a "mnemonic". There are three versions of it, which you will hear when playing trailers, streaming at home, or in movie theaters, respectively.
- "There’s like the main version, which is five seconds, which is what you hear before episodes of a television show. There’s a one-second version that is just a sting, that might play when you see a movie trailer and they just show the production company. And then there is a longer-form version which you’ll see it in a movie theater at the start of an Apple studios original film, like ‘Killers of the Flower Moon.’ I tried to make sure that that one felt a little more cinematic and a little grander, because it had more seconds to get from A to B, but it also just felt like it was a different environment," Finneas told Variety.
