B&O launches its new soundbar: Beosound Premiere

Beosound Premiere is positioned between Beosound Stage and Theatre as a new soundbar that can stand alone or be integrated into a larger B&O setup.

The soundbar features 10 speaker drivers, including front-, side- and upward-firing units for Dolby Atmos. They are powered by 10 amplifiers with a total output of 580 Watts.

It is not just a technical necessity – it symbolizes Bang & Olufsen's engineering craftsmanship. The top is perforated with 1925 precision-milled holes, which serve both as an acoustic opening and as an aesthetic signature – a tribute to the year Bang & Olufsen was founded," explained Bang & Olufsen.

The company says it uses its proprietary 'Wide Stage Technology' to expand the soundstage in both height and width. An integrated Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 decoder is built in.


Upgradeable
Beosound Premiere functions as a standalone soundbar that can be connected to your TV via HDMI eARC. It can also play music via AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, Spotify Connect and Beolink Multiroom.

Alternatively, the soundbar can be part of a larger Beolink Surround system, allowing wireless addition of extra speakers or subwoofers for a full Dolby Atmos movie experience. The same is possible with Sonos speakers but Bang & Olufsen offers a highly flexible system supporting many different types of speakers.

All Dolby audio formats are supported, but DTS decoding is not supported in any form. Instead, DTS must be decoded on the player or TV and sent to the soundbar as multichannel PCM up to 7.1 channels.

It is 'Cradle to Cradle Certified Bronze,' which "means the product is not only designed to perform but also to be repairable, upgradeable and recyclable", the company noted.


A premium price
But you have to pay dearly for luxury. With a price tag of $5,800 / £3,900 / €4,900, Beosound Premiere costs almost twice as much as Beosound Stage – B&O's least expensive soundbar.

Still, it is significantly cheaper than the company's most premium soundbar, the Beosound Theatre.

Beosound Premiere will be available this month in Natural Aluminium, with Gold Tone and Black Anthracite variants to follow in spring 2026. Front covers in oak or fabric are optional at extra cost. The soundbar can also be used "raw" without a front cover.
