After concerns that Nvidia had abandoned its Shield media player, the company has made a statement with a series of smaller updates. Here comes another one.
The Shield hardware is getting long in the tooth and the players are still stuck on Android 11, but at least users are still getting software updates.
Software update 9.2.2 includes bug fixes, most notably one meant to address the audio issues affecting Disney+.

The 9.2.2 update, which is rolling out now, appears to replace the 9.2.1 update released in May 2025, which added support for GeForce Now at 1080p 120fps and included various other fixes.
There is still no information or credible rumors about upgraded Shield hardware, despite the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, which builds on the same hardware platform as the original Switch and the Shield players.
