Rumor: Samsung to launch PC monitors with WOLED panels

27 Nov 2025 | Rasmus Larsen |

Samsung is the leading maker of OLED monitors, based on its own QD-OLED technology, but rumors are circulating that it will launch WOLED-based monitors – and not necessarily from LG Display.

This is not the first time FlatpanelsHD has heard about it, but we have remained on the sidelines so far.

More credible information is now emerging about the company's 2026 monitors S27HG612SC (27" G61SH), S27HG802SC (27" G80SH), S32HG802SC (32" G80SH) and S27HG702WC (27" G70SH). The information comes from the Chinese outlet Channelgate via WCCFTech.

The 2026 monitor model names align with FlatpanelsHD's earlier reporting that Samsung is skipping the 'G' for its 2026 OLED TVs, jumping straight to 'H' with S95H, S90H and S85H.

WOLED – but not from LG Display?

The 27-inch Samsung G70SH, reportedly scheduled for launch around June 2026, is said to be the first Samsung monitor to use a WOLED panel. It is expected to feature 4K resolution and dual-mode 165/330 Hz refresh rates. It has been speculated that the panel comes from LG Display, which certainly seems plausible. LG Display already produces dual-mode OLED panels, including a large panel with 165/300 Hz capability. However, in August the Korean outlet The Elec reported that Samsung is in dicussions with Chinese display maker BOE about supplying WOLED panels for Samsung monitors. According to the report, Samsung has also asked BOE whether it could supply WOLED panels for TVs in the future. Also read: Cheaper OLED TVs expected in 2026

Samsung already using WOLED in TVs

All of Samsung’s current OLED monitors use its own QD-OLED panels. For TVs, Samsung uses both QD-OLED and WOLED panels depending on model and size, as Samsung Display currently lacks the capacity to fully meet Samsung Electronics' OLED TV demand. The OLED monitor market is expected to continue to grow rapidly at 86% in 2025 compared to 2024, according to TrendForce.
