LG and ViewSonic have announced their first 540 / 720Hz monitors based on the new RGB Tandem OLED panel.
LG Display's brighter and more colorful 4th generation OLED panel, also known as Primary RGB Tandem, competes with QD-OLED.
The fastest version of the new panel first appeared in Asus and Acer monitors. It was a bit surprising not to see LG Electronics be a launch partner, but the company is now making its move with the 27GX790B.
ViewSonic's model goes by the name XG273F-2K-OLED.
540Hz or 720Hz
All four gaming monitors from Acer, Asus, LG and ViewSonic are based on the same 27-inch flat OLED panel with 2560x1440 resolution, full DCI-P3 color coverage and true HDR support with up to 1500 nits peak brightness (1.5% window) and 335 nits full-screen – significantly higher than last-gen OLED.
It refreshes at 540Hz at native resolution but a dual-mode function allows the user to switch it into overdrive with 720Hz at 720p HD resolution.
At 720Hz, we expect the OLED monitors to outperform even the upcoming 1000Hz LCD monitors in motion clarity due to OLED's much lower true 0.02 ms (G2G) response time.

Features, design and ports
Despite having the same OLED panel, there are some differences between monitors in terms of features and design. Asus' version is confirmed to have a glossy coating. LG's has a matte coating.
The LG and ViewSonic monitors both feature HDMI 2.1 ports. ViewSonic's has DisplayPort 1.4 while LG advertises DisplayPort 2.1 but without confirmation on bandwidth. Asus' version has 80Gbps DisplayPort 2.1a.
The LG 27GX790B and ViewSonic XG273F-2K-OLED will be available soon, with pricing to-be-announced. We hope to hear more details during CES 2026. The Asus PG27AQWP sells for around $1100.
