One of the year's biggest box office hits, F1 The Movie starring Brad Pitt, is now available on Apple TV worldwide. The streaming service has added a 7-day free trial, allowing you to watch the movie for free.
After roughly 60 days exclusively in cinemas, with the movie grossing 631 million dollars worldwide, followed by availability on VOD platforms, F1 The Movie is finally available to stream on the Apple TV streaming service starting today, December 12.
Viewers have had to wait patiently for almost 170 days since its theatrical premiere. This is quite unusual for Apple, which has given many of its previous movies a direct-to-streaming releases.

4K HDR and Atmos, but no IMAX
F1 The Movie, directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick), tells the story of Sonny Hayes – played by Brad Pitt – who returns to Formula 1 after an accident. It can be streamed in 4K resolution with HDR and Dolby Atmos. Its runtime is 2 hours and 35 minutes.
The film has been shown in IMAX cinemas, but unfortunately the streaming version does not include the expanded aspect ratio. It is standard widescreen. The same applies to the UHD Blu-ray version, despite rumors suggesting otherwise.
To stream the movie in the highest quality – the highest bitrate – you need the Apple TV 4K box. The Apple TV app on other devices streams at lower bitrate. This applies to all 4K movies and series in the Apple TV app.
