Hisense Europe today introduced its 2026 TV lineup, with UR9S and UR8S featuring RGB miniLED, 180Hz and a new streamlined design. Hisense's 2026 TVs are the first to support Dolby Vision 2.
Last year, the Chinese brand was – alongside Samsung – first to introduce RGB LED, which Hisense markets as 'RGB miniLED'. These are LCD TVs with RGB LED backlighting. At the time, however, the technology was limited to very large and expensive TVs.
In 2026, Hisense will bring RGB LED technology to more affordable models and smaller sizes suitable for most living rooms.
RGB miniLED in smaller sizes
UR9S and UR8S will be available in sizes from 55 to 100 inches. Both feature a new streamlined unibody design similar to what we have seen from Samsung and Sony. According to Hisense Europe, the TVs are as slim as 45mm.
The RGB LED backlight enables wider coverage of the BT.2020 color space, which underpins modern HDR standards. Zone dimming allows for more precise light control, although the number of zones was disclosed. It is all powered by a new 'Hi-View AI Engine RGB' video processor.
Both UR8S and UR9S also move up to 180Hz for the first time (or over 300Hz at 1080p). This is supported with a PC, while gaming consoles such as PS5 and Xbox still top out at 4K 120Hz. The TVs also feature improved anti-reflection coating.
These models will also be available in the US. More details regarding the US lineup will be announced at CES 2026 next week.
First TVs will Dolby Vision 2
Another world first is Dolby Vision 2, which Hisense is first to deliver thanks to a collaboration with Dolby and MediaTek around the Pentonic 800 chipset that powers the TVs.
Dolby Vision 2 may require a firmware update following the launch, according to FlatpanelsHD's information. We must also wait for the first movies and series mastered in Dolby Vision 2.

LG and Samsung have already unveiled 2026 LCD TVs with RGB LED, which both brands market as 'micro RGB', while TCL and Sony are expected to announce their models in the near future. Competition is heating up this year.

Hisense Europe also introduced more affordable TV models that build on its existing lineup structure. These include LCD TVs with miniLED local dimming and 144Hz or 165Hz refresh rates, such as U7S Pro, U7SE, and E8S.
In addition, there are cheaper, more conventional LCD TVs with direct LED backlighting, including E7S Pro, E7S, A7S and A6S. This year's models can be identified by the 'S' suffix, whereas last year's models ended in 'Q'.
E7S Pro feature the streamlined design. U7S Pro will be the most affordable model to support Dolby Vision 2. Audio is tuned by Devialet. These TVs will compete in the mid-range segment, where Hisense is aiming in particular to take share from Samsung.
Several models feature four HDMI 2.1 ports, while UR9S replaces one of them with USB-C with built-in DisplayPort and power delivery.
All TVs are based on Hisense's Vidaa platform in Europe while the US models rely on Google TV. Vidaa has the most essential apps and other streaming services can be cast via built-in Apple AirPlay. There is no Google Cast but Miracast is supported.
