LG Display has today unveiled its high-end 2026 Tandem WOLED TV panel, which it says achieves up to 4500 nits peak brightness and the "lowest reflection rate".
Following the introduction of its 4th-generation OLED technology last year, the 2026 panel features an improved 'Primary RGB Tandem 2.0' structure.
- "It features Primary RGB Tandem 2.0, an advanced version of LG Display’s proprietary Primary RGB Tandem technology, which generates light by stacking the three primary colors of light (red, green, and blue) in independent layers. By incorporating an even more refined pixel structure and advanced algorithms, it maximizes light efficiency," the display maker explained, and added:
- "As a result, the new OLED TV panel achieves a peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits. It also incorporates advanced light-absorption and diffusion technology to minimize reflections, delivering the lowest reflection rate among existing displays of just 0.3 percent.

What to expect in 2026
A few days ago, Samsung Display made a similar announcement, saying that 2026 QD-OLED can reach 4500 nits brightness. As explained by FlatpanelsHD yesterday, peak brightness on the actual TVs available to buy is typically lower due to TV makers’ tuning, particularly in calibrated mode.
For example, LG Display's 2025 panel was specified at 4000 nits, but FlatpanelsHD measured "only" 2213 nits peak brightness in calibrated mode on LG G5, which incorporates the panel.

Extrapolating things, 2026 OLED TVs such as LG G6 and W6 will almost certainly exceed 2500 nits, and may push closer to 3000 nits. FlatpanelsHD will return with more information this week during CES 2026.
The announcement about reduced reflections is also interesting. It aligns with leaked information about LG G6 and W6, and it does not appear to be the same type of matte coating found on Samsung's S95F QD-OLED.
LG Display did not comment on panel sizes, but leaks about LG G6 suggest that the display maker's most advanced OLED panel will be limited to 48, 55, 65, 77 and 83 inches.

Brighter OLED monitor panels
Last month, LG Display announced that its new 27-inch 4K OLED panel will switch to RGB stripe pixels, enabling sharper text and better color accuracy.
LG Display now says that its entire lineup of gaming OLED panels will switch to 'Primary RGB Tandem 2.0' starting this year, enabling up to 1500 nits peak brightness. It is unclear how many of these will also switch to RGB stripe pixels – we are seeking clarification.
The first three confirmed 2026 WOLED monitor panels are the aforementioned 27-inch RGB stripe panel as well as the 39-inch 5K2K and 32-inch 4K panels that will debut in LG Electronics' new OLED monitors.
In addition, LG Display will showcase at CES 2026 an OLED panel for cars that can function as a dashboard and slide out to a large 33-inch display during autonomous driving or when parked, as seen below.
