After the debut of 115-inch LCD TVs a couple of years ago, Samsung will in 2026 launch the world's first 130-inch LCD TV. It features a 'Micro RGB' backlight.
TCL launched the first 115-inch LCD TV in 2024, and at the time it was the most advanced miniLED LCD TV on the market. Soon after, Hisense responded with a 116-inch miniLED LCD TV, and Samsung followed with a 115-inch LCD TV of its own.
These TVs were followed by significantly cheaper, but also downgraded, 115- and 116-inch LCD TVs in September 2025, mirroring the aggressive price reductions seen for 98-inch LCD TVs in recent years. The 115-inch LCD TVs are still not exactly cheap, but prices have already been cut by more than half compared to 2024.
Meanwhile, OLED TVs remain capped at 97 inches and are sold at uncompetitive prices, while large true micro-LED TVs – without an LCD panel – are still prohibitively expensive.
First 130" LCD TVs
The next step is 130-inch LCD TVs. It is currently unclear who produces the panel, but it is certainly not Samsung Display, which has sold off all of its LCD panel production plants and shifted its full focus to OLED.
Our money is on TCL CSOT, so we expect TCL to announce a 130-inch model of its own in the near future. The resolution of the panel was not confirmed.
Nevertheless, Samsung has announced the world's first 130-inch LCD TV as part of its R95H range. It is equipped with Samsung's 'Micro RGB' backlight, also known as RGB LED, and claims 100% BT.2020 color coverage for HDR. It is powered by the company's new 'Micro RGB AI Engine Pro' processor and comes an anti-glare screen coating.

- "Micro RGB represents the peak of our picture quality innovation, and the new 130-inch model takes that vision even further," said Hun Lee, EVP of Visual Display at Samsung.
In addition, it supports HDR10+ Advanced and runs Samsung's Tizen OS with access to streaming apps. The company's many AI features are also included, although our testing so far has left us unimpressed here.
Timeless Frame design
The 130-inch TV is designed to stand on the floor, with a look reminiscent of the 85-inch S9 from 2013. Samsung calls it the 'Timeless Frame', inspired by "the frame of a grand architectural window".
- "We’re reviving the spirit of our original design philosophy introduced more than a decade ago to deliver an unmistakably premium display, engineered with technology for a new generation," said Hun Lee.
Samsung added that the TV offers audio performance to match, though without providing many details. It supports both Dolby Atmos and Eclipsa Audio.
The 130-inch TV will launch later in 2026. Pricing will be announced later.
