Every James Bond film is now on Netflix

21 Jan 2026 | Rasmus Larsen |

First the acquisition of Warner, then a global deal with Sony Pictures. Now Netflix has also struck a deal with rival Amazon to stream James Bond and more.

In March 2022, Amazon acquired film studio MGM and gained the distribution rights to the James Bond films. In february 2025, Amazon gained full creative control to also shape future 007.

This does not mean, however, that the iconic films are being locked behind the doors of Amazon's own streaming service, Prime Video.

- "When Amazon acquired MGM, Amazon's plan was to continue licensing MGM's iconic library to streaming and television partners around the world. Bringing these iconic films and shows to Netflix is part of that continued strategy," said Chris Ottinger, Head of Worldwide Distribution, Amazon MGM Studios.

26 James Bond films and more

The agreement covers all 26 films, including the unofficial Never Say Never Again, in the US, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Benelux, Italy, Nordics and Latin America. All 007 films starring Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig can be streamed on Netflix starting today January 21. They will remain available for 3 months. The films are limited to HD resolution in Europe but 4K or 4K Dolby Vision in the US (thanks @istrakhov). Build-up to the next Bond film

The deal appears to be part of the build-up to the next James Bond film, with Denis Villeneuve – known for the Dune films – in the director's chair. The new Bond actor has not yet been cast. Ahead of the theatrical release, Amazon seemingly wants to keep 007 fresh in the minds of as many viewers as possible worldwide. Netflix is the ideal platform for that, with more than 325 million subscribers and close to one billion viewers, according to the company. The next 007 film is expected to premiere no earlier than 2028.
