Apple TV is the new home for Formula 1 in the US, and for the first time races can be watched in 4K resolution with Dolby Vision HDR. There is also multiview.
- "This weekend marks the start of a new era for Formula 1 fans in the U.S.," said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services. "We’re excited to bring every moment of the season to Apple TV, delivering an immersive experience designed entirely around fans. Formula 1’s growth in America has been extraordinary, and we’re proud to build on that momentum – combining the power of Apple TV with the broader Apple ecosystem to create even more ways for fans to connect with the sport."
Apple said that every Grand Prix race will stream with 4K Dolby Vision, for the first time, as well as 5.1 surround sound from the Apple TV app on Apple TV 4K, Smart TVs, Google TV and other devices.
The 2026 Formula 1 season started this weekend in Australia and will conclude in December with the final Grad Prix in Abu Dhabi. At this time, Apple has the rights to Formula 1 in the US only. In the UK and other regions, rights will remain with partners like Sky for now, or alternatively available through the F1 TV app, which also remains available in the US, but only with an Apple TV subscription.
Apple and Netflix partnership
Formula 1 is included with an Apple TV subscription for $13/month after a free 7-day trial. In addition to live practice and Grand Prix races, there are full replays, highlights and 'Race in 30', Apple said.
Netflix's season 8 of Formula 1: Drive to Survive is also available in Apple TV, in addition to Netflix, while the F1 Grand Prix du Canada will stream on both Apple TV and Netflix beginning May 22.

Multiview and Driver Tracker
A Multiview feature lets viewers choose which fees they would like to follow, as seen below. There is English and Spanish commentary, with access to up to 30 additional live feeds, including Driver Tracker for bird's-eye view.
Five F1 races will also screen in more than 50 IMAX theaters in the US.
There is no special Formula 1 feed for Apple Vision Pro. The races are simply available there in flat "2D" with 4K Dolby Vision from the Apple TV app – a missed opportunity so far.
- "As we begin this exciting chapter for our sport with new teams, cars, engines, and drivers, it is the perfect time to welcome Apple as our broadcaster in the United States," said Stefano Domenicali, Formula 1’s president and CEO.
