Ahead of a broader OLED expansion, TCL has launched its first OLED monitor alongside new miniLED LCD monitors.
TCL – the miniLED brand – is branching out. It is currently constructing a large 8.6-generation plant, which will be the first to inkjet-print OLED panels starting in 2027.
OLED will complement its miniLED LCD technology, where TCL has propelled itself into a leadership position in the competition against LG and Samsung.
TCL's first OLED monitor
TCL seems eager to get started and is now launching its first OLED monitor, the 32-inch 32X3A, ahead of the completion of its new factory. This new monitor appears to use a WOLED panel from LG Display.
It features a sleek 6.4mm design reminiscent of some of the first OLED prototypes from 15–20 years ago. It is what we were promised OLED would enable, and it is positive to see TCL push the envelope in a new market segment.
TCL 32X3A
The 32-inch TCL 32X3A features 4K resolution (3840x2160), 240Hz refresh rate (or 480Hz at 1080p), 0.03 ms response time, 1300 nits peak brightness, 99% DCI-P3 color, DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, USB-C with 90W charging, and audio by Bang & Olufsen.
It is launching initially in China this month for 5999 CNY ($870). TCL often launches new products in its home country of China before bringing them to international markets at CES or IFA.
TCL CSOT – the company's display panel manufacturing arm – has on multiple occasions showcased prototype RGB OLED panels for monitors, but we will have to wait a little longer for these.
TCL's 2026 monitors
1040Hz miniLED LCD
TCL also launched a 27-inch IPS LCD monitor with miniLED (number of zones TBC), 1440p resolution and a 550Hz refresh rate, with a dual-mode feature allowing users to switch to 1040Hz at 720p resolution.
With the 27P2A Ultra monitor, TCL enters the race to 1000Hz and beyond. Multiple such monitors are launching in 2026, several years ahead of expectations, although we still expect 720Hz OLED monitors to outperform them in motion clarity due to their much faster response time.
TCL is also launching the 27-inch 27C3A Pro LCD monitor featuring a 165/330Hz refresh rate, 4K resolution, Dolby Vision and Atmos, 2304 miniLED zones and up to 2200 nits peak brightness, priced at 3199 CNY.
Curiously, 2304 is the exact same number of miniLED dimming zones found in Apple's new Studio Display XDR, suggesting that TCL could be supplying Apple with miniLED backlight technology. Apple is pairing its monitor with a 5K IPS LCD panel, though.
