Samsung is already sourcing WOLED panels from LG Display, and LG may soon return the favor by using Samsung DIsplay's QD-OLED panels in its monitors.
Update: A fresh report by The Elec is corroborating the rumor saying that "LG Electronics plans to launch new gaming monitor models in the second half of the year using Samsung Display's QD-OLED panels. Multiple sizes, including 27-inch and 32-inch variants, are under consideration".
The rumor surfaced this week in a Korean report by ZDNet, citing multiple sources. It has not been corroborated.
- "According to multiple sources in the component industry on April 6, LG Electronics is currently in discussions with Samsung Display to source 27-inch 240Hz UHD (4K) QD-OLED panels for monitors. Although nothing has been finalized yet, supply could begin as early as the fourth quarter of this year," claims ZDNet (machine translated).
27-inch 4K OLED
The report refers specifically to Samsung Display's 27-inch 4K QD-OLED panel – not TV panels at this time.
It is notable because LG Display in December 2025 announced its own 27-inch 4K WOLED with RGB-stripe pixels, but LG Electronics may see the two as serving different use cases.
Asus, Dell, MSI, Samsung and others are already selling 27-inch 4K QD-OLED monitors.

A Korean alliance
LG and Samsung were once fierce hometown rivals, but the two South Korean companies have grown closer in recent years amid mounting pressure from Chinese display makers.
Since mid-2023, Samsung Electronics has sold TVs with WOLED panels from LG Display, and is rumored to be launching its first WOLED monitors this year. LG Electronics has never used Samsung Display's QD-OLED panels in any type of product, sticking to LG Display's WOLED panels. LG Electronics did, however, recently start using Samsung Display's RGB OLED panels in laptops.

If LG Electronics were to start using QD-OLED panels as well it would reinforce South Korea's bet on OLED in its transition away from LCD.
