OLED is finally coming to smaller monitors, something many gamers have been asking for. Asus' XG259QWPG Ace features a Tandem WOLED panel with 540Hz but it is limited to 1080p.
Asus calls it the "world's first OLED esports monitor". While it is not the fastest OLED monitor on the market – there is a 720Hz model – we still expect it to be very popular if priced right.
It targets professional and enthusiast gamers playing fast-paced competitive games, where a high refresh rate combined with OLED's extremely fast response time can provide an edge. The monitor will provide a significant leap in picture quality compared to the TN LCD monitors commonly used today. It is developed in partnership with Blast and PGL.
The first 25-inch OLED
Asus XG259QWPG is the world's first 25-inch OLED monitor, or 24.5-inch to be exact. It features a glossy Tandem WOLED panel with 540Hz, 0.02 ms response time and 1920x1080 resolution.
Asus also highlighted specs such as 15% higher peak brightness, 25% larger color volume and 60% longer lifespan versus previous-generation WOLED panel.
- "The new ROG Swift OLED PG27UCWM, PG32UCWM, and Strix OLED XG259QWPG Ace also feature GaNFET in its power supply design to optimize heat dissipation. The result is nearly 35% less waste heat at the hottest point in the system, and a 10% drop in vent temperature, achieving a longer OLED lifespan, and zero compromises on performance," added Asus.

2026 or 2027?
The monitor is being showcased at Computex 2026 in Taiwan but we still do not know how much it will cost or when exactly it will arrive.
LG Display and Asus are clearly trying to get out ahead of Samsung Display, which is rumored to be working on a 24-inch QD-OLED panel for 2027.
