Sony's first 'True RGB' LCD TVs now widely available

After nearly two years of anticipation, they are finally here. Sony is launching 'True RGB' as a new generation of LCD TVs with improved colors in the US, the UK and other regions.

North America got an early start but the rest of the world is now also invited to the party.

Sony is not abandoning OLED TVs, but under the company's new two-year product cycle, 2026 is all about flagship LCD TVs. Specifically, Bravia 9 II and Bravia 7 II featuring RGB LED technology, which Sony markets as 'True RGB'.

Now widely available
Bravia 9 II launches in 65, 75 and 85 inches, with a gigantic 115-inch model arriving later this year. It will compete with TV models such as the TCL X11L (SQD-miniLED), Samsung R95H (RGB LED) and Hisense UR9S (RGB LED).

Bravia 7 II is initially available in sizes up to 65 inches in most of Europe, with large 75, 85 and 98 inch models to follow in August. Other highlights include Google TV, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Direct Connect for wireless speaker connectivity, IMAX Enhanced, HDMI 2.1 (two ports only), Sony Pictures Core (formerly Bravia Core), PS5 features and built-in Atmos speakers (Bravia 9 II only).

Sony has also launched the 2026 LCD models – without RGB LED or miniLED – Bravia 3 II and Bravia 2 II in sizes up to 100 inches.
