Dell's first QD-OLED monitor with RGB-stripe pixels is now available. So is its first QD-OLED for professional use, though that one is extremely expensive.
U3226Q is the first OLED monitor in the UltraSharp lineup; Dell's range of monitors designed for graphics, text and similar tasks. Unfortunately it looks like a misstep.
First unveiled in January, it is now available to buy but does not feature RGB-stripe pixels, the very thing that for the first time makes text work viable on OLED monitors. Instead it uses a 4th generation QD-OLED panel with triangular pixels.
It has all the features you would expect from UltraSharp, including a flexible stand and even a built-in calibration sensor, but with a price tag of $2600 dollars is not justified as the same QD-OLED panel that can be found in other monitors at a third or even a quarter of the price.

Dell's first RGB-stripe OLED
Dell's first OLED monitor with RGB-stripe pixels is instead the 34-inch AW3426DW. It features a fifth-generation Penta Tandem QD-OLED panel but is aimed at gaming – a situation that feels somewhat back to front.
That said, the move to true RGB pixels is welcome. AW3426DW has a 21:9 aspect ratio, curved, 1440p resolution and 280Hz. It is now available in North America and Europe. See the list below.

More RGB-stripe models on the way
Later in the year, Dell will launch its first Tandem WOLED with RGB-stripe pixels, the 39-inch AW3926QW with 5K2K resolution in 21:9 and 165Hz (or 330Hz in 1080p). It is also aimed at gaming and has a glossy screen.

Both AW3426DW and AW3926QW support Dolby Vision and HDR10 as well as HDMI 2.1 (plus DisplayPort 2.1 in AW3926QW). Both come with a 3-year burn-in warranty, said Dell.

With these launches, Dell is expanding its OLED monitor range to now cover gaming (Alienware AW-series), general media use (Plus-series) and professional use (UltraSharp). It is a sign of a maturing technology.
