Nvidia Shield appears to be a victim of the ongoing component shortage, with both variants sold out worldwide. However, that does not mean it is the end for the popular streaming box.
Buyers around the world have noticed that Nvidia's Shield TV streaming box is nowhere to be found, either in stores or from Nvidia itself. The company lists the Pro version as "out of stock", while the cheaper non-Pro version has been removed from its website entirely.

Is Nvidia Shield discontinued?
The situation has raised concerns among users about the future of Shield. Nvidia has, however, dismissed the rumors, saying that the box is "out of stock due to demand".
Regardless of whether the shortage is caused by demand or a lack of components, the statement indicates that Nvidia is not ready to abandon Shield, which is also still receiving software updates.
It is also worth noting that Nvidia said earlier this year that it was considering new hardware with AV1, HDR10+ and expanded Dolby Vision support. At the time, Nvidia also committed to continuing to support the software.
Nvidia Shield is the only one of the featured streaming boxes that has not become more expensive due to the component shortage. Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku and most recently Google TV Streamer have all increased in price.
