Philips is not breaking up with Google but it is introducing an alternative Titan OS in some of its 2024 LCD models including 'The Xtra' (PML9009) and 'The One' (PUS8909).
What is Titan OS? It is a full-fledged linux-based TV platform developed by a partner. We do not have many details to go on yet, but expect more information later this week.

In addition to international apps such as Disney+, we are told that regional apps are in development and many will be available this year.

The Xtra and The One
Titan OS will be found in this year's 'The Xtra' (PML9009) and 'The One' (PUS8909) LCD TV ranges from Philips. The One has all the essential features you need in a TV in 2024, according to Philips, while The Xtra adds a miniLED backlight to the mix.
Philips said the PML9009 LCD TVs represents the step down from OLED, with a miniLED backlight delivering up to 1000 nits peak brightness in 55, 65, 75 and for the first time 85 inches. It did not provide details on the number of dimming zones.

PML9009 and PUS8909 both feature 3-sided Ambilight, the non-AI P5 video processor, up to 144Hz 4K support over HDMI 2.1, Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. For full specifications see the TV Database or click the model names in the table below.
PML9009 will be available in June while PUS8909 is expected to launch in May. Pricing details will be made official closer to launch.
