Review: Video: Here's Titan OS – a new TV platform in Philips TVs

|

Yet another new TV operating system is set to launch this year, debuting with the release of the first Philips LCD and OLED TVs powered by Titan OS.

Titan OS was officially unveiled earlier this week. It is developed by an independent company collaborating with TV makers such as Philips. Titan OS will later appear in TVs from other brands, competing with LG's webOS, Samsung's Tizen, Google TV, Amazon's Fire TV, and soon TiVo OS.

FlatpanelsHD had the opportunity to interview the people behind Titan OS and see the new TV platform in action. Check out the video to see how it works.

Bonus information: Titan OS also includes a Casting app that is compatible with Chromecast, meaning that most smartphone apps that support Chromecast should allow you to push content wirelessly to Titan OS, if the TV is on and the app is open.

Titan OS will initially be implemented in PML9009, PUS8909 and PUS8309, followed by OLED759. The more premium 2024 OLED TV ranges from Philips still run Google TV.
